Donna is the Founder and Co-CEO of UK for Good and a B Leader.
Following almost 40 years running businesses, working as a Private Wealth Manager for B Corp private bank Coutts & Co, and setting up and leading the charity Cheshire Connect, she had a lightbulb moment.
It was clear that the needs and expectations of people and the planet were rapidly changing, yet businesses weren’t adapting. The new rules of business focus on purpose, people, planet, and prosperity…not just profit.
Of course, larger businesses were developing their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and ESG (Environment, Social, and Governance) commitments, but there seemed to be very little support for SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) which account for 99.9% of the 5.8 million businesses in the UK.
In 2021 Donna set up Cheshire for Good, as a B Corp Pending business (the B Corp status for start-ups) with a clear purpose to inspire, inform, and enable SME businesses to grow successfully, AND sustainably.
Cheshire for Good soon grew into UK for Good and in 2023 was awarded full B Corp Certification.
